Atloc Moncada started as the CEO of Helaform

Atloc Moncada has started as the new CEO of Helaform. The previous CEO, Tiia Lahtinen, will continue as the Chairman of the Board as well as one of the company’s principal owners.

“Helaform was founded in 1983 when I was 4 years old. The company Helaform has been a constant in my family for so long that a significant part of my earliest memories are associated with it in some way. Obstacle courses built from steel profiles, car races with hangers and playing shop with bearings were part of my childhood. I have worked at Helaform in several different positions. I started out in warehousing and administration, and 13 years ago, I moved from export management to becoming the CEO.

The past few years have been a time of constant uncertainty and new, unexpected challenges around the world. Since the coronavirus pandemic, we have seen the war of aggression against Ukraine, the energy crisis, and now, most recently, the downturn of the Finnish economy and the challenges facing the construction sector.

We at Helaform have been lucky enough to survive these crises, although not unscathed. Our talented employees and decades-long customer and supplier relationships have played a major role in our survival. When I took on more responsibility in the company, the first piece of advise my father gave me was that a business transaction is only profitable when both parties are satisfied and benefit from it in the long term. With this in mind, I have sought to lead the day-to-day operations of the company by creating and leading a corporate culture in which humanity, equality and service-mindedness are reflected not only in our activities but also in employee, customer and stakeholder relations.

In the midst of all this, we have moved to new premises that will hopefully provide a solid foundation for our operations for the next 40 years. This spring would have marked my 14th year as CEO, but as they say, nothing lasts forever, and now it is time for me to hand over the reins to someone else. The decision was not easy, but I strongly believe that it is a step in the right direction and towards the future for both Helaform and myself. I will continue at Helaform as the Chairman of the Board, and there will be no significant changes to the company’s ownership base. We will continue to be a family-owned Finnish business.

Atloc Moncada, who many of you are already familiar with, started as the new CEO on 5 January 2024. He has worked at Helaform for more than 10 years with the last few years as Sales Director, so he knows our staff, customers and stakeholders well.

I would like to send a big thank you to our staff, customers and suppliers. It has been an honour to work with you,” says Tiia.

“From the beginning, Helaform has represented for me trust, honesty, courage and maybe even a bit of craziness. “The saying ‘promise only what you can keep’ describes Helaform well. An integral part of Helaform is that people treat others the way they would like to be treated themselves. Perhaps that is why we have had the honour of working with people who share the same values for such a long time.

Tiia has not only continued but also strengthened Helaform’s story. The story is still a strong foundation for success now and in the future. I have had the incredible honour of being part of this story and, as the new CEO, I am excited about the opportunity to continue it with our wonderful staff,” says Atloc.
