Sliding shutters decrease the heat in warm climates

Sliding shutters were installed in front of windows in an apartment building with the SAGA system in historic Tel Aviv in the city of Jaffa. Especially in countries such as Israel, the sun shines year round, with the help of sliding shutters in front of windows, direct sunlight can be prevented without completely blocking the source of light. 86 aluminium sliding shutters were installed at a maximum weight capacity of 25 kg per shutter and a width of 3 meters per shutter.

Sliding shutters and tracks were painted to match the rest of the apartment building’s color scheme. Difference between normal sliding shutters was that the SAGA track was used as the bottom guide channel.

The project was completed in December 2018. The architect in this project was Pivko Architects.
