Stylish sliding shading panels add character and protection

A modern private villa in Boden, Sweden, was designed and fitted with striking, sliding wooden shading panels that combine elegance with functionality. The solid wood structures provide effective protection from sunlight and prying eyes—while also giving the building a strong architectural character.

For this project, Helaform supplied a sliding door system for four movable shading panels, which can be positioned in front of two large glass surfaces. The panels glide smoothly along a single, extended track and open in opposite directions, allowing for flexible use in different situations. The system used is from the 150 Series, where the K-150 sliding track is wall-mounted using SKL-150 wall brackets. The shading panels themselves are connected to the track using PPS-150 hangers, with flanges attached on both sides of the panels. At the bottom, the panels are guided by AO-12 bottom guides, which are fixed to the concrete base—a solution that ensures stability and durability.

The result is a set of shading panels that blend seamlessly with the villa’s wooden exterior cladding and highlight its modern architecture. A stylish, practical, and long-lasting solution.

The building was designed and constructed by the local construction company Norrläge AB from Boden, which was also responsible for manufacturing and installing the shading panels.
