Heavy doors, smooth movement – a large-scale sliding door solution for Layher’s warehouse hall using Helaform’s track system.

Layher Oy acts as the official representative in Finland for Layher, the German world-leading manufacturer of scaffolding systems. The company supplies high-quality products for construction sites, shipyards, power plants, bridge works, as well as for large public events.

For the large warehouse hall in Lahti, Finland, Layher required heavy-duty sliding doors. The doors were built with steel frames and clad with mesh panels. They were sizeable: each door was about 5 meters high and 6 meters wide, weighing nearly 500 kg each.

Due to the heavy weight, Helaform’s 500 series sliding tracks were chosen, offering sufficient load capacity and durability. A total of 16 doors were installed, designed to slide in overlapping sections. To enable this, two parallel lines of K-500 series tracks were installed, with a combined length of nearly 200 meters. The tracks were securely mounted using KK-300/500 soffit brackets.

Thanks to this solution, the warehouse entrance can be opened extremely wide, enabling efficient and smooth logistics even with large work machines.

The design, manufacturing, and installation of the sliding doors were handled by Trutec Oy – a Finnish steel construction expert specializing in the comprehensive delivery of various types of industrial halls and commercial premises.
