The Parola Armour Museum, Finland

The sliding curtain serves as a striking eye-catcher in the Armour Museum’s new shelter.

The Armour Museum, located in Hattula, is a branch museum dedicated to the history of armoured and anti-tank troops. It features an extensive collection of tanks, armoured vehicles, and anti-tank weapons from the era of Finland’s independence, as well as an impressive armoured train.

Helaform’s long-term customer, Parolan Teltta Oy, has delivered sliding curtain solutions for several of the museum’s outdoor halls and shelters. The latest project, completed in summer 2025, involved installing a sliding curtain along one long side of the shelter housing the armoured train. This new curtain also serves as a visual highlight of the museum, being the first visible element for passersby and arriving visitors. The curtain features a striking print along with the Armour Museum’s logo, acting as a visual invitation to explore the museum.

The solution utilised Helaform’s 100 series sliding tracks, brackets, stoppers, and VP/2-100 and VP/4-100 steel hangers. The total curtain length is approximately 60 metres, and over 200 hangers ensure smooth and easy operation of the large curtains.

Both Parolan Teltta Oy and the end user, the Armour Museum, are very satisfied with the outcome – both in terms of functionality and visual appeal.
