Massive, 10-metre-tall sliding doors were installed in the new waste processing halls in Helsinki.

Vaihtolavacom Oy offers waste management expert services for companies and private persons. Two large waste processing halls were built at its Tattarisuo location, and a total of 8 large (4m x 10m) sliding doors were installed in the halls. The doorways are 8 metres in width, and trucks and other large work machines can drive through them.

Since the doors were very heavy, a 2000 series sliding track system was selected for moving the doors. In this location as well, it was important that there were no guide tracks on the floor/ground level, as they might get in the way and collect dirt. As such, the bottom guides were implemented by attaching them to the walls at the edges of the doorways. Although the sliding doors are heavy, they are still very easy to open and close by hand.
